Usyk Trolls Fury Ahead Of Their Rematch – ‘Chubby Belly’

Oleksandr Usyk had a dig at Tyson Fury, calling him chubby, as he began preparing for their December 21 rematch.
Usyk gave Fury the first defeat of his career, beating The Gypsy King in a split decision to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. Usyk dominated large parts of the fight, while Fury came on strong in the middle rounds. The Ukrainian almost stopped Fury in round nine. Just when he was going for the finish, the referee imposed a standing eight count, which prevented the Ukrainian from finishing the job.
Heading into the first fight, Fury was praised for his physique. He looked the leanest he had done in recent years, having put in the hard yards. However, he could not keep up with the Ukrainian. Usyk walked him down and put him on the back foot, making Fury tire in the later rounds. The Gypsy King had a seven-inch reach advantage and was around 40 pounds heavier than Usyk. But Fury could not make that count, as Usyk was the better man. Fury vowed to avenge his loss, while Usyk set his sights on giving Fury another boxing lesson.
Usyk On Fury
The clip shows Usyk wearing an oxygen mask. He is jogging on the treadmill as his endurance training has begun. He can be heard saying the following: “Put a mask on and take a run. Going after just the little guys, huh? What’s up, my chubby buddy? I hope you are alright,” Usyk said
The rematch all depends on whether Fury will make the date. He had already withdrawn from the Usyk fight on two occasions. The fight was initially teased for December last year. However, Fury’s tough bout against Francis Ngannou meant it was backdated for February. Fury had to get off the canvas to get past Ngannou in a split-decision win.
The February date was also called off. Fury withdrew after suffering a cut over his eye is sparring. The Gypsy King has a history of not going through with rematches, as the Wladimir Klitschko fight showed. Fury secured a win over Klitschko. The rematch never happened after Fury suffered an injury. He then suffered from mental health struggles as fans never saw them run it back. Usyk warned Fury over the consequences of pulling out.
“No way because the ball’s in our court now. He has a contract and so do I until Dec 31st, we have to hold this fight up to and including [that date]. If he pulls out December 21, he will lose all of his money and dividends and won’t be a man of his word anymore,” Usyk stated
The pressure is all on Fury. The rematch is not for undisputed after Usyk vacated the IBF belt. Anthony Joshua will now box Daniel Dubois, who holds the IBF title. Fury knows a win over Usyk could set up a potential undisputed fight with Joshua if the results play out that way. But another defeat will increase the calls on him to retire.
