Tyson Fury Is 'Damaged Goods' After The Usyk Loss - 'Usyk Flattens The Typsy King'

Tim Bradley expects Oleksandr Usyk to beat Tyson Fury much easier the second time, saying The Gypsy King is damaged goods.

Usyk beat Fury by a split decision to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. While one of the scorecards gave Fury, the judge was heavily criticized, with most feeling that the Ukrainian had done enough to win. The turning point in the fight came in round nine. Usyk landed a big left hand, which buzzed Fury on the ropes.

The Ukrainian followed it with various combinations as Fury bounced from the ropes. Just as the Ukrainian was going to get the stoppage, the referee jumped in to give Fury a standing eight count. That decision was criticized because many felt Usyk had been deprived of a knockout. Given Fury’s damage, Bradley expects the rematch to go much easier for Usyk when they face off on December 21.

Bradley Reacts

“I would also say that Tyson Fury is damaged goods. I’m not going to lie. He’s damaged goods. He don’t like it on the chin. I’m just saying that his punch resistance has faded drastically. “Bro, he got hit with a left hand early in the [Usyk] fight that nobody would talk about, and he got clipped. I saw his eyes roll back a little bit in his head. He got buzzed by that shot. So, if he’s going to want to stand there and trade and come forward [in the rematch], I think he’ll have some success against Usyk. But what happens when the counters come from Usyk?” Bradley said

Those comments are understandable, given the amount of punishment Fury has taken. Before the Usyk fight, Fury had to get off the canvas against Francis Ngannou. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion dropped Fury with a left hook in the third round. The shot did not connect fully, but it was enough to get Fury’s attention. The three fights against Deontay Wilder also may have taken their toll on Fury.

Fury’s Chin

In the first and third fights, Fury had to get off the canvas from solid Wilder right hands. He has previously stated that he worried about having brain damage after the third Wilder fight, where he hit the canvas twice. Fury had also been training since the Ngannou fight for the Usyk bout. That gave him plenty of time to prepare himself for the biggest fight. The Gypsy King looked in good physical condition for the fight. And yet, it was not enough to beat Usyk. Now that the Ukrainian has tasted 12 rounds with Fury, he could stop him next time around.

“The minute that Usyk stood his ground, he was like ‘Forget all the feints and all these counters you’re trying to do to get me out of position. I’m going to stand my ground and fight you, because I know when you let your hands go and you try to retreat, you’re not disciplined defensively. I think Usyk knows that now, and he’s going to apply that, and he’s going to make adjustments himself, and he’s going to make this fight a lot easier than it was the first time around,” Bradley stated
