Turki Alalshikh Eyes Fury vs. Klitschko Rematch

Turki Alalshikh‘s dream is to create two mega fights moving forward.

The first one mentioned was a rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko. They faced off against each other in 2015 when Tyson beat Klitschko in his backyard to become the Unified Heavyweight Champion. The fight was marred by controversy, with Fury’s build-up antics getting under Klitschko’s skin. The Gypsy King ultimately delivered in the fight to cause one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. The rematch was set to go ahead. However, Fury withdrew after suffering from an injury. He would then suffer from mental health problems, which prevented the rematch, as Klitschko would retire.

Fury Vs. Klitschko

However, there is a narrative in place to run things back. Reports recently confirmed that Klitschko was considering returning to face Daniel Dubois, the IBF Heavyweight Champion. That victory would have seen Klitschko become the oldest heavyweight champion, a record held by George Foreman. The latter beat Michael Moorer at the age of 45 to become the IBF Heavyweight Champion. However, those plans were scrapped. But following Usyk’s victory against Fury in the first fight to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, Klitschko may well have the desire to make a comeback to avenge that loss.

But that also depends on how Fury’s rematch with Usyk plays out. A victory for Fury would likely set up a trilogy fight. However, a defeat could open the door for a Klitschko fight since it offers an alternative to the Anthony Joshua bout.

Canelo Vs. Crawford

The Saudis are also not giving up their hopes of making a Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight. Crawford has been chasing that fight for some time, as he would have to jump up two weight classes to meet Canelo at 168. The Mexican initially dismissed the idea of a fight, saying he would get no credit for beating someone who came up from welterweight.

But Canelo is also known for taking fights that generate the most money. The other big fights outside of Crawford would be against David Benavidez and Dmitry Bivol. Both those bouts are significantly more difficult, posing more of a risk of getting beat. But if things go their way, the Saudis could very well end up making those fights.

“The result of Tyson and Usyk there is a lot of people waiting for. One of them is Dubois, there is also Joshua and there is third person. I am dreaming to see this fight, to give chance to – if he accepts – [Wladimir] Klitschko to get back and have a chance to be the oldest heavyweight champion ever,” ,” Alalshikh said

“I don’t know anyone now from the Canelo team, and I don’t have any connection, but if he’s hearing me, we are ready to discuss [a fight with Crawford]. But I want to discuss with him directly, without anyone in the middle,” Alalshikh added
