Tank Davis And Roach Locked In Following Final Presser – ‘He’s Dangerous’
The final press conference took place for Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr.’s fight on March 1.
Tank will make the defense of his WBA Lightweight Belt, as this could be the first of his final three fights. Davis has said during the build-up that he will retire this year with a view to fighting three times more. He arrives into the fight with a stoppage victory against Frank Martin. Tank has been criticized for not facing the big names despite having an undefeated 30-0 record.
A victory over Roach will increase the calls on him to face Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney or Ryan Garcia in the rematch. Roach knows this is the biggest opportunity of his career. He has already won a world title at 130 pounds, having secured the WBA belt after defeating Hector Garcia. He is a severe underdog heading into this fight, but the pressure is all on Tank, as Roach knows he has nothing to lose. Both fighters were prepared as they had plenty to say during the final presser.
