Born on July 17, 1994, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Stephen Fulton was introduced to boxing at a tender age. Fulton made his professional debut on October 14, 2014, with a second-round technical knockout victory against Issac Badger. Fulton’s ascent continued as he amassed an undefeated record of 15–0 with 6 stoppage victories over the next five years. In May 2019, Fulton faced Paulus Ambunda for the IBO super bantamweight title, dominating the fight and securing a wide unanimous decision victory. He moved up in weight for his next bout in August 2019, defeating Isaac Avelar with a sixth-round body shot to capture a catchweight bout.

 

Fulton’s career reached new heights when he won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight belt and became the WBO super bantamweight mandatory title challenger by defeating Arnold Khegai in January 2020. He successfully defended this title in his next fight against José Rosales in June 2020.

 

One of Fulton’s most notable achievements came in January 2021 when he defeated Angelo Leo for the vacant WBO super bantamweight title. He followed this up with a successful defense against John Vincent Moralde in November 2021. In June 2022, Fulton defended his WBO super bantamweight title against Daniel Roman, winning by a wide unanimous decision. Despite a setback against Naoya Inoue in July 2023, Fulton’s career achievements solidify his status as one of the top boxers in his weight class.
