Zhang Weili makeover stuns MMA fans after pro glam session
Former UFC strawweight champion Zhang Weili posted a makeover video on Instagram that had fans doing double-takes.
The 115-pound veteran, who owns wins over Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Carla Esparza, and Jessica Andrade, underwent a professional glam session that left some followers convinced the footage had been digitally altered. According to MMA Mania, the dramatic transformation sparked immediate debate across social platforms.
Zhang explains the makeover process
"There was a professional makeup artist who taught me to apply makeup," Zhang said in the post, per the report. The 36-year-old fighter, who carries a 26-4 record, vacated her strawweight title last year to move up to flyweight but came up short against Valentina Shevchenko in the UFC 322 co-main event at Madison Square Garden. She has not competed since.
In Zhang's absence, Mackenzie Dern captured the vacant 115-pound strap. Zhang has yet to announce her next bout, though a return before year's end would set up potential matchups across two divisions.
