Brendan Allen calls out Dricus Du Plessis for October fight

Brendan Allen wants former UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis next and he is not being subtle about it.

Allen posted on social media that Du Plessis "sucks end of story" before proposing an October fight date, per Sherdog. The middleweight contender accused the South African of ducking him in a follow-up post Sunday. "So are we gana fight october or are you gana keep duckin?" Allen wrote.

Allen targeting Du Plessis after three-fight streak

Allen is riding wins over Marvin Vettori, Reinier de Ridder, and Edmen Shahbazyan and sees Du Plessis as his path to a title shot. Du Plessis bounced back from the first loss of his UFC run by stopping Kamaru Usman at UFC Oklahoma City earlier this year, putting himself back in championship range with two previous wins over current titleholder Sean Strickland on his ledger.

Allen carries a 27-7 record into his next booking while Du Plessis stands at 24-3. No response from the former champion yet on whether he takes the fight Allen is angling for this fall.
