Woodley On Paul MMA Trilogy As Biggest PFL-MVP Fight

Tyron Woodley thinks a trilogy fight with Jake Paul in MMA would be the biggest bout the merged PFL-MVP promotion can stage. The former UFC welterweight champion, who lost two boxing matches to Paul, floated the idea in a recent interview ahead of his Real American Freestyle wrestling contest against Khamzat Chimaev in Moscow.

Woodley told Bowks Talking Bouts that the matchup represents PFL-MVP's strongest commercial opportunity following the promotional merger. "I think the biggest fight that the PFL could make with a merger with Jake Paul is me and Jake Paul in an MMA fight," he said, per BJPenn.com. "I feel like that's the biggest one they can do."

Woodley's Consulting Role Across Multiple MMA Promotions

The 44-year-old revealed he is working in a consulting capacity with multiple organizations, including the Global Fight League and PFL-MVP. He spoke positively about GFL's fighter equity model, saying the promotion gives athletes ownership stakes rather than just fight purses. Woodley said he stays in contact with both PFL-MVP figurehead Nakisa Bidarian and former Bellator president Scott Coker about growing the sport.

Woodley recently defeated Joaquin Buckley in a RAF wrestling match and is preparing for Chimaev while juggling film production work in New York. He explained that training for both RAF opponents simultaneously mirrors his wrestling background, where competitors often face multiple unknown opponents in a single tournament day.

The Chimaev bout is scheduled for later this week at RAF Moscow.
