Dana White intervened when Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy nearly exchanged punches at Friday's UFC 331 ceremonial weigh-ins in Los Angeles.
The lightweight contenders face off Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena in the co-main event beneath Joshua Van's flyweight title defence against Alexandre Pantoja. Tsarukyan stepped off the scale and approached Ruffy's outstretched fist, according to MMA Mania, then tried to move around it. Ruffy took exception and both men lurched forward before White jumped between them.

The winner positions himself for a shot at the 155-pound belt, though neither fighter has talked much trash in the buildup. Friday's flash of tension marked the first real heat between them.
UFC 331 streams live on Paramount Plus tomorrow night. Van defends his flyweight strap for the first time since capturing it from Pantoja earlier this year, while former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Pitbull makes his promotional debut against Doo Ho Choi on the main card.
