WBA Title Added To Fury-Joshua Fight In Cardiff

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight for the vacant WBA "Super" heavyweight title when they meet December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The move creates a second WBA heavyweight titleholder alongside Murat Gassiev, who currently holds the organization's regular belt after being elevated when Oleksandr Usyk vacated it in June and defending it with a stoppage of Peter Kadiru in July. The decision reverses the WBA's recent push to move away from multiple champions per division.

Both men return from tune-up wins this year — Fury via decision over Arslanbek Makhmudov and a stoppage of Mariusz Wach, Joshua with a rocky second-round knockout of Kristian Prenga after being dropped twice early. Fury has opened as a -180 favorite, with Joshua at +150.
