Vasiliy Lomachenko Eyeing Anthony Cacace Fight

Vasiliy Lomachenko is targeting WBA featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight champion Anthony Cacace for his return to the ring, according to manager Egis Klimas, a move that could set up a path toward undisputed status at 130 pounds.

Klimas has identified the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs. O'Shaquie Foster — who meet October 24 for the IBF, WBO and WBC titles — as the bigger long-term target, with a win over Cacace positioning Lomachenko to unify all four belts. No agreement with Cacace has been reached yet.

At 38 and coming off a long layoff, Lomachenko faces a difficult early test in Cacace's height, reach and strength, which would require sharp footwork and quick exits after exchanges — the same qualities that made him elite, but ones that carry real risk to rely on immediately after an extended absence.
