Flyweight champion Joshua Van defends against Manel Kape (23-7), with Carlos Prates facing Michael Morales in the co-main event at UFC 336.
Prates was expected to challenge Islam Makhachev, but Dana White revealed Makhachev didn’t want to fight in January: “They offered me a fight with Prates, who recently lost to [Ian Garry], someone I beat. If I beat him, Morales would already be next in line, who’s not fighting and waiting for [a title shot]. Just let them fight and we will figure out who’s the real challenger,” Makhachev.

Van is seeking his third straight flyweight title defense after beating Tatsuro Taira and former champion Alexandre Pantoja in 2026. Kape is on a four-fight win streak, most recently a third-round knockout of Kyoji Horiguchi in June.
