Umar Nurmagomedov Knocked Out

Umar Nurmagomedov was knocked unconscious by a massive uppercut from Song Yadong in the main event of UFC Fight Night 286 in Shanghai, suffering his first career stoppage loss.

The result stunned Umar's corner, which included PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov, UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, Iakub Shikhdzhamalov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov. Usman rushed into the cage toward his fallen brother and collided with Song, who was celebrating the win, briefly appearing to hold back from throwing an elbow before things calmed down — with Khabib later helping wipe blood from a cut over Song's eye as both camps interacted respectfully.

The loss is only Umar's second in 22 professional fights, following a close decision defeat to then-champion Merab Dvalishvili in January 2025. He entered Saturday on a two-fight win streak and in position for another title shot.
