UFC has launched its first Ultimate Gym Upgrade Project in Brazil, a contest that will award BRL 25,000 in official sports equipment to a martial arts institution.

The promotion announced registration opens July 30 and runs through August 26 at ultimategymupgrade.com. Popular voting will determine three finalists between August 28 and September 20, according to the official contest site. A second round of voting runs October 30 through November 20, with the winner revealed November 21.

Nogueira Calls Social Projects Fundamental to UFC Talent Development

Hall of Famer Rodrigo Nogueira, who serves as UFC's Brazil Ambassador, said the initiative supports institutions that produce UFC-level fighters. "Social projects are fundamental to the development and discovery of talent in martial arts," Nogueira said, per the UFC release. "Many athletes who are now standout names in the UFC, such as current BMF champion Charles Oliveira, began their fighting journeys in local institutions."

Each equipment donation will be made through the UFC Foundation. Eligible institutions must focus on martial arts instruction and meet criteria detailed on the contest website. Applicants must submit a project summary along with photos and video during registration.

The three finalists will receive a visit from Nogueira before the final voting round begins in late October.
