UFC Signs Four After DWCS Season 10 Opener

Dana White handed out four UFC contracts after the season 10 premiere of the Contender Series on Tuesday, with flyweight Bilal Hasan and heavyweight Anthony Wint delivering the night's quickest finishes at the APEX in Las Vegas.

Hasan, who entered as the biggest betting favorite in Contender Series history at minus-5000, connected with a body kick before landing a right hand that dropped Mridul Saikia at 45 seconds of the first round, per MMA Fighting. Hasan followed to the canvas and landed additional shots before referee Herb Dean stopped the bout. He celebrated the finish with a moonwalk in the cage.

Wint Stops Adams In Opening Minute

Wint, a former New York Jets player, stuffed an early takedown from Matt Adams and reversed position to land on top. The heavyweight unloaded punches until Dean waved off the fight 34 seconds into round one. Wint chopped at Adams with leg kicks before the takedown attempt that led to the finish.

Middleweight Joseph Kropschot and welterweight Thomas Pagliarulo joined the UFC roster with decision wins. Kropschot battered Jon Kunneman with body kicks and jabs across three rounds, nearly securing an armbar in the final minute before the clock expired. Pagliarulo weathered early knockdowns from Ananias Mulumba and rallied to stop the Contender Series veteran with ground strikes at 4:24 of round three.

Abe Alsaghir took a split decision over Fabrizio Escarrega in the lone bout that did not produce a contract. The next Contender Series card airs August 19.
