UFC Releases Jessie Rosas After Vegas 120 Pullout

UFC released bantamweight Jessie Rosas after he withdrew from his promotional debut against Miles Johns just 24 hours before UFC Vegas 120, according to UFC Roster Watch.

Rosas, the older brother of prospect Raul Rosas Jr., pulled out when doctors suspected a mark on his forehead was herpes. The lesion was later confirmed to be mat burn, per MMA Mania. The August 8 card at Meta Apex proceeded without him.

Rosas' History Of Last-Minute Withdrawals

The 23-year-old entered UFC on a three-fight win streak with an 8-1 record and a 75 percent finish rate. His only loss came against regional journeyman Keenan Lewis. Rosas owns four submissions and two knockouts.

This was not Rosas' first late pullout. He withdrew from a Fury FC 102 main event against John Yannis minutes before the opening bell. The pattern likely factored into UFC's decision to part ways after a single missed booking.

Rosas can still work his way back to the promotion but will need to rebuild trust with matchmakers after two failed fight nights. His younger brother Raul remains on the UFC roster at flyweight.
