UFC veteran attorney Colby Williams exits for Red Rock role

J. Colby Williams, a trial attorney who has represented the UFC since the Zuffa era, is leaving the promotion this September to become Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Red Rock Casinos, The MMA Draw reports.

Williams, a founding partner of Campbell & Williams and a trusted advisor to the Fertitta family, has over thirty years of litigation experience. He was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in March 2025, an honor reserved for the top one percent of trial attorneys in the country. His firm has represented the UFC throughout its antitrust litigation and handles significant Nevada-based clients including Dana White and TikTok.

What Williams' exit means for UFC antitrust case

The departure removes what The MMA Draw described as the UFC's best trial attorney from the ongoing antitrust case. Williams is expected to join Red Rock on or around September 8, 2026, where he will oversee legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Current UFC EVP Hunter Campbell is the son of Don Campbell, Williams' long-time law partner.

Frank Fertitta III, Red Rock's CEO, called Williams "a longtime and trusted advisor to the Company and to me" in a statement. "His successful and impressive legal track record and his intimate familiarity with our organization will ensure a seamless transition," Fertitta said, per the company announcement.

Williams holds an AV "Preeminent" ranking from Martindale-Hubbell for legal skill and ethical practices, a designation he has maintained for twenty years. He has handled precedent-setting cases in complex commercial litigation, high-stakes administrative proceedings, catastrophic personal injury, and First Amendment law. His departure from the UFC case comes as the antitrust litigation continues to move through the courts.
