UFC 329 gate hits $25 million, breaks promotion record
UFC 329 has shattered the promotion's live gate record with approximately $25 million in ticket sales, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed to ESPN on Friday.
The event, which takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and features Conor McGregor's return against Max Holloway, eclipsed the previous high of $22 million set at the Sphere. "Our biggest gate ever was the Sphere, $22 million, this gate beat it at $25 million," White said, per MMA Fighting. "The city is buzzing."
McGregor's return draws massive numbers despite hiatus
McGregor has not fought since July 2021, when a first-round leg break ended his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The injury kept him out until 2024, when a scheduled clash with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 fell through after McGregor sustained a toe injury. His five-year stretch away from the cage included a civil suit that found him liable for sexual assault in 2024 and a brief presidential campaign in Ireland the following year.
Ticket prices for UFC events have climbed to record highs in 2026, but demand for McGregor's comeback proved relentless. The Irishman holds the promotion's pay-per-view record with 2.4 million buys for UFC 229 against Khabib Nurmagomedov and cleared 1.5 million buys in multiple other bouts. His 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather reportedly generated 4.3 million domestic buys and earned McGregor $130 million despite a tenth-round stoppage loss.
White announced the gate milestone at Thursday's post-fight press conference, where McGregor thanked fans for their support. The fight takes place Saturday night in Las Vegas.
