Tyson Fury Weighs 265 Pounds, Gives Up Size Edge to Wach

Tyson Fury will face a heavier opponent for the first time in his career when he meets Mariusz Wach on July 24 in Pattaya, Thailand.

The former heavyweight champion tipped the scales at 265 pounds on Friday, while Wach weighed 291.4 pounds, according to Sherdog. The 26.4-pound gap marks the first time Fury has surrendered his trademark size advantage in a heavyweight bout. Fury came in two pounds lighter than he did for his April win over Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Fury Says He's Still Sharpening Up After Long Layoff

Fury addressed the unusual weight disparity at the official weigh-in, saying he is still working his way back to peak condition. "I've never faced a man heavier than me," he told Sky Sports. "I'm very happy to be fighting. I've had one fight in over two years. This is my second camp back-to-back after a 16-month layoff. I'm getting sharper, fitter and stronger every day."

The bout is widely viewed as a final warm-up before a potential superfight with Anthony Joshua later this year. Fury said his game plan against the Polish veteran is straightforward. "I want to box his head off for 12 rounds, if possible," he added. "I'm there to box and move, use my attributes."
