Tyson Fury stops Mariusz Wach in seven, Joshua fight next

Tyson Fury stopped Mariusz Wach in the seventh round Friday night in Thailand, moving closer to a blockbuster heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua.

The former lineal champion finished the Polish veteran midway through the bout, per ESPN, setting up what could be the biggest all-British fight in years. Wach, a durable opponent who once went twelve rounds with Wladimir Klitschko, had no answer for Fury's size and reach.

With the Wach tuneup complete, Fury and Joshua are expected to finalize terms for a summer date. Both camps have circled each other for months, and this result removes the last obstacle on Fury's side.

Joshua has not fought since his December win over Jermaine Franklin. The two-time unified champion is reportedly eyeing a late June or early July slot at Wembley Stadium, though no contracts have been signed. Fury's team is now free to negotiate in earnest.
