Tyson Fury names Kabayel, Dubois as backup options to Joshua

Tyson Fury has identified Agit Kabayel and Daniel Dubois as potential opponents if his planned mega-fight with Anthony Joshua falls apart.

Fury told iFL TV that he would accept a WBC title fight against Kabayel, whom he previously called a "brother" and refused to fight for any sum, per a Bad Left Hook story. The shift comes as Kabayel holds the WBC interim belt and is ordered to face Oleksandr Usyk by June 30, with the possibility Usyk vacates to pursue a rematch with Rico Verhoeven. If that happens and the Joshua bout collapses, Fury — ranked number one by the WBC — could be ordered to meet Kabayel for the vacant title.

Fury open to Dubois showdown after Wardley war

"I'm No. 1 ranked with the WBC again, if (Usyk) pulls out of the fight with Kabayel, then I'm in with Kabayel," Fury said. "If the Joshua fight doesn't happen for whatever reason, then I'll get my shot at (becoming) three times (world champion) against Kabayel, and I'll take it to Wembley."

Fury also praised WBO champion Dubois as another option, calling his recent stoppage win over Fabio Wardley an "unbelievable fight" and saying he would face anyone. The former two-time heavyweight king has trained extensively with Kabayel in the past and once managed the German contender, but appears willing to set friendship aside if the WBC orders a mandated bout.

The Joshua fight remains the priority, though multiple scenarios could derail it. Fury's team has not announced a date or venue for that potential clash.
