Tyson Fury doubts Anthony Joshua will face him after Thailand win

Tyson Fury questioned whether Anthony Joshua will commit to their long-discussed heavyweight clash after stopping Mariusz Wach in seven rounds Friday in Thailand.

Fury, speaking after the non-televised bout in Pattaya, referenced Joshua declining to face him following his April win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Sky Sports reported Fury saying he doubts Joshua has the resolve to step in the ring with him, pointing to the Tottenham incident where Joshua passed up the opportunity in front of 70,000 fans.

Potential Wembley showdown in 2026

Joshua fights Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday in his first bout since surviving a December car crash in Nigeria that killed two of his friends. The British rivals could meet later this year, with Fury floating a 2am start time at Wembley to capture a global audience, though no venue or date has been confirmed.

Fury told reporters he wants the next fight signed within a week and listed possible locations including Las Vegas, New York, Ireland, London, Belfast, and even Pattaya. The 37-year-old said he will not travel to Jeddah for Joshua's fight this weekend, instead heading home after spending 10 weeks in camp and months away from his family.

Fury insisted the Wach bout was necessary to stay active after fighting just once in the previous two years. Joshua and Fury have circled each other for years without finalising terms; the winner of Saturday's Prenga fight will face renewed pressure to commit to the all-British showdown.
