Tsarukyan Undeniable With Oliveira Win, Says Edgar
Arman Tsarukyan would lock down a lightweight title shot if he beats Charles Oliveira in their rumored UFC 331 rematch, according to former champion Frankie Edgar.
Edgar told Bowks Talking Bouts that the Georgian contender is doing everything right to position himself for divisional glory. "Winning has a way of taking care of things," Edgar said, per BJPenn.com. "[If] he goes out there and if this rematch with Charles [Oliveira] happens, I feel like [Arman's] undeniable after that."
UFC 331 Rematch Details
Red Corner MMA first reported that Tsarukyan and Oliveira will run it back on September 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. This time the fight would be scheduled for five rounds, unlike their three-round split decision at UFC 300 last April, which Tsarukyan took on the cards.
Edgar noted that Tsarukyan stumbled when he pulled out of a title fight earlier this year but has rebuilt momentum through activity and winning. "He's making himself more popular. He's out there competing. He's out there on video streams and whatnot," Edgar said.
Some reports indicate the BMF title may not be on the line for the sequel clash. UFC 331 is set for mid-September in California.
