Trey Waters Signs with PFL, Set for August SmartCage Debut
Former UFC fighter Trey Waters has signed with the Professional Fighters League and will make his promotional debut in August, according to sources.
Waters will compete Aug. 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of PFL's Summer Series events, Sherdog reported. The bout marks his first appearance inside the promotion's SmartCage technology.
Waters Brings UFC Experience to PFL Summer Series
Waters departs the UFC with a winning record after his most recent stint with the promotion. His addition gives PFL another established name heading into the summer slate of events.
The Summer Series operates outside PFL's main season format, offering fighters showcase opportunities without tying them to the playoff structure. Waters joins a roster that has increasingly drawn veterans from other major promotions over the past two years.
No opponent has been announced for the Aug. 7 card. PFL typically reveals full fight cards four to six weeks before events.
