Tommy McMillen reveals Hunter Campbell backstage check-in

Undefeated featherweight Tommy McMillen says UFC executive Hunter Campbell pulled him aside before his latest fight to check on his partying habits.

McMillen revealed on Ariel Helwani's show that Campbell approached him backstage ahead of UFC Oklahoma City after hearing the 28-year-old had celebrated his previous win with a three-day binge in Las Vegas. McMillen earned a $100,000 Fight of the Night bonus for his April debut against Manolo Zecchini and admittedly did not sleep for three days while celebrating the payday.

According to McMillen, Campbell asked if he had his priorities straight. "He was like, 'Hey, kid, you good? You got a good head on your shoulders? You're in the right place?'" McMillen told Helwani. "I was just like, 'Oh yeah, I'm more dialed in than ever.'"

McMillen backed up his words at UFC Oklahoma City, setting a three-round UFC record with 252 significant strikes before stopping Alberto Montes in the third frame. The performance earned him another $100,000 bonus, this time for Performance of the Night.

The finish improved McMillen to 11-0, with 10 stoppages. His only decision came on Dana White's Contender Series last year, where he rallied after getting rocked and nearly submitted in the opening round. Per Sherdog, McMillen kept his Oklahoma City celebration more subdued than his Vegas spree.
