Thad Jean predicts Shamil Musaev will get 'greedy' at PFL DC

Thad Jean expects Shamil Musaev to overreach in their vacant PFL welterweight title fight July 25.

The unbeaten 2025 tournament winner faces Musaev, who captured the 2024 bracket but dropped his first pro bout earlier this year when the inaugural divisional belt was on the line. Jean told Sherdog he intends to exploit that setback when they headline PFL Washington D.C. at CareFirst Arena.

Jean banking on Musaev's frustration after first loss

"I think after his last loss, he will get greedy and I will catch him," Jean said. "He is gonna get greedy, and I am going to catch him, or he's gonna get frustrated, and I am going to catch him. I mean, if you watch him back, you'll see what he does before he starts. He gets frustrated, then he goes."

Jean brings an 11-0 record to the bout. Musaev stands 18-1-1 and won his season tournament before the title shot fell short months later.

The main card airs Saturday at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN, with prelims streaming at 4 p.m. on the ESPN app.
