Till vs. Romero Set For BKFC Manchester
Darren Till is getting a significant step up in his second bare-knuckle fight.
BKFC has confirmed that Till will headline the promotion's Manchester event on September 26 against Yoel Romero. Till signed a multi-fight deal with BKFC and made his debut in May, getting dropped by a flash knockdown in the opening round before coming back to stop Aaron Chalmers in brutal fashion.
Romero is a former Olympic gold medalist in wrestling who built a UFC career on knockout power and an almost supernatural physical condition that made him one of the most difficult fighters in the world to hurt. He went two rounds with Robert Whittaker for the middleweight title in 2017 and pushed Whittaker again in the rematch. He knocked out Chris Weidman.
Romero debuted with BKFC and won by knockout, then took an outside fight with a Russian promotion and dropped a controversial decision. He returns to BKFC looking to reestablish himself, and a win over Till in Manchester would do exactly that.
The card is still being filled out, with additional fights expected to be announced over the coming weeks. The AO Arena gives the event a major-venue feel that matches the weight of the main event.
