Till On Garry's 'Fake' UFC 330 Promotion

Darren Till has watched Ian Garry work the media ahead of UFC 330 and thinks the welterweight challenger is doing it wrong.

Garry faces Islam Makhachev for the 170-pound title on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Along the promotional trail, he suggested women should run the world and endorsed strict veganism. Till, who meets Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 next month in Manchester, told The Mac Life that Garry's messaging misses the mark.

"I'm not a hateful guy, I don't hate Ian Garry," Till said, per MMA Mania. "But I just think every time that guy speaks, he just absolutely tarnishes his brand, his image, by what he's talking about. If he was a bit more like me, mate, people would love him, because he's obviously a great fighter. The one thing as well, people can see and know a fake guy and he's got fake written all over him."

Till, who challenged for UFC gold during his own run with the promotion, moved to bare-knuckle boxing last year and stopped Mike Perry in his debut. He takes on former UFC middleweight contender Romero on Sept. 26.

Garry enters UFC 330 on a five-fight win streak despite dropping a decision to Shavkat Rakhmonov in December. Makhachev has not lost since 2015 and defends the welterweight strap for the first time after capturing it earlier this year.
