Thurman Says Ortiz Fight Feels Agreed
Keith Thurman believes a deal is close for a fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr. on David Benavidez’s undercard, though he hasn’t received a contract yet.
“On my end, it feels like a full agreement. I think the promoters are dancing around on some dates right now,” Thurman told Fighthype.
Thurman has long been a potshot fighter, loading up on single shots before moving away. Against Sebastian Fundora he was picked apart during those wind-ups, and Fundora’s height made him hard to reach.
He sees more danger in Ortiz. “When it comes to punching power, he’s more dangerous than Sebastian. I believe Vergil has more of the punching power that can put you down,” Thurman.
