Stephen Thompson wants to close out his UFC contract at Madison Square Garden in November.
Thompson has one bout remaining on his current deal and is eyeing the promotion's annual New York City card for his finale, Sherdog reports. The former welterweight title challenger told Home of Fight he is scouting the roster for an opponent who can deliver a high-action scrap. "Madison Square Garden, Nov. 14, got to make it happen," he said. "We're looking at November... We're kind of looking at the roster, trying to find out a good fight. A good barnburner, if you will, for that card."

Thompson's Recent Struggles And Career Outlook
The 43-year-old kickboxer has dropped three straight fights, falling to Gabriel Bonfim, Joaquin Buckley and Shavkat Rakhmonov in his most recent outings. Thompson came up short in two title bids against Tyron Woodley earlier in his career but remains a fan favorite for his flashy striking and sportsmanlike conduct. He holds a 17-9-1 record inside the Octagon.
The November 14 date Thompson mentioned would likely correspond to UFC 334, though the promotion has not officially announced the card. Thompson confirmed he has begun preliminary discussions about opponents for what he intends to be a memorable sendoff at the Manhattan venue.
