Teixeira 10 Pounds Heavier Than Shogun At Weigh-In

Glover Teixeira will carry a 10-pound weight advantage into his boxing debut against fellow former UFC champion Mauricio Rua on Saturday.

Teixeira stepped on the scale at 240 pounds Friday morning in Sao Paulo, while Rua weighed 230, MMA Fighting reports. Both came in under the 242-pound limit for the eight-round, two-minute contest at Spaten Fight Night 3.

Olympic Judo Rematch Features 33-Pound Gap

The card's largest weight discrepancy came in the judo bout between Olympic gold medalist Bia Souza and Raz Hershko. Souza, who beat Hershko in the 2024 Olympic heavyweight final, weighed 293 pounds — 33 pounds heavier than her opponent at 260.

The event also includes a WBA Fedelatin USA lightweight title fight between Luan Medeiros and Juan Cruz, with both boxers hitting 134 pounds. Judo and jiu-jitsu matches round out the card, which streams from Brazil Saturday night.
