Stanionis Promises To Give Ennis His First Loss – ‘I Will Break Him'

Eimantas Stanionis has promised to give Jaron Ennis his first loss ahead of their welterweight clash on Saturday.

It is the biggest fight of their careers, with the winner taking a step closer to undisputed. Stanionis is undefeated with a 15-0 record. His last fight was in 2024 with a win against Gabriel Maestre. He has accused Ennis of trying to avoid him, as Boots seemed more focused on getting fights with Brian Norman Jr. and Mario Barrios. Now, he has the chance to give Ennis his first loss.

Meanwhile, Ennis defeated Karen Chukhadzhian in his last fight to retain his IBF Welterweight Title. Before this fight, he was linked with a unification against WBO Welterweight Champion Brian Norman Jr. before talks broke down. He was also linked with a move up to 154 to face Vergil Ortiz Jr. before deciding to stay at welterweight.

Ennis showed that he has weaknesses in his last fight. Karen managed to repeatedly hit Ennis during the course of their 12-round fight. The CompuBox numbers was evidence of that. Karen landed 128 power punches from 345, while Ennis landed 177 from 494. Karen also landed 45 jabs from 177, with Ennis connecting with 47 from 236. Karen also landed with 173 punches to the body from 522, with Ennis connecting with 224 from 530.

Jaron is much bigger than 147, as the weight cut will take its roll the longer he stays at the weight class. That could prove a factor against someone who packs a hard punch. Stanionis has nine knockouts from his 15 wins, which is respectable. While his last KO was in 2020, boxing is a sport where one punch change the course of a fight. If Stanionis landed with similar CompuBox numbers, Ennis could be in trouble.

Stanionis On Ennis

"Camp at Wild Card has been a warzone—exactly how I like it. With Coach Marvin Somodio, we’ve been grinding non-stop. The sparring partners we worked with are monsters, they pushed me to the edge. Speed, defense, pressure—we’ve dialed in every weapon in I posses. Every day I walk into that gym, I treat it like a fight. I’m locked in, and hungry. This is the best version of me the world’s ever seen.

"Ennis is slick, explosive, and they say he’s the future of the division. That’s why I signed the contract. I don’t duck anyone—I run toward the fire. This isn’t gonna be a chess match. This is going to be a war. I’m stepping into that ring to test him, break him, and beat him. Let’s see how he handles real pressure. Beating Boots changes everything for me. It puts me on the throne of the Welterweight division and kicks the door open to pound-for-pound greatness. But this isn’t just about belts—this is about legacy. I fight to carve my name into the history books," Stanionis said
