Claressa Shields stopped Kaye Scott in the sixth round Saturday night, and her promoter wasted no time turning the focus to a bigger target.
Dmitry Salita told Sky Sports that his team is still working to lock down a fight between Shields and unbeaten British Olympian Lauren Price, despite Price not attending the bout in Atlanta as invited. "Our intention is to make the fight," Salita said. "Based on my understanding, we have agreed to all the requests from BOXXER and Lauren's side."

What Shields Wants Next
Salita added that he had hoped to get the two fighters together at the weekend event to hash out any remaining details. "I wanted Lauren and Claressa to have an opportunity to sit down together and see if there was anything outstanding," he explained, per Bad Left Hook. "Unfortunately, they weren't able to make it, but the conversations are ongoing and we want to make the fight."
Shields, who now holds WBC and WBA middleweight straps, is also in talks with other potential opponents if the Price match falls through. Names floated include Mikaela Mayer and Tamm Thibeault, according to Salita.
