Sean Strickland responds to UFC White House snub
Sean Strickland was not at the UFC's White House event because he failed to receive clearance from the administration, not because Dana White banned him.
Strickland clarified the timeline after White jokingly told media that the middleweight is "banned from humanity." According to Strickland, Hunter Campbell told him after his most recent fight that the UFC would arrange a White House visit, and the promotion filmed the conversation for an Embedded episode. Days later, the UFC called to say he was not cleared by the White House itself.
Strickland jokes he would ban himself
The former champion said he holds no grudge over the decision. "I'm not even salty they didn't clear me," Strickland wrote on social media, per Sherdog. "Could you picture me sitting with Kash Patel? F*ck man, I'd ban me from the White House too."
White denied any internal UFC ban on Strickland during a recent media scrum, dismissing the notion that the outspoken fighter was blocked by the promotion. Strickland's absence from the event had fueled speculation about his status with UFC leadership.
No timeline has been given for Strickland's next bout.
