Sean Strickland escorted from UFC Fan Fest, may face charge

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland was escorted out of the UFC Fan Fest at the White House on Sunday after sneaking into the event, and now reportedly faces a possible misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct.

Strickland, who claimed earlier in the week he was barred from attending the historic card, traveled to Washington anyway and managed to slip into the fan fest held at the Ellipse near the White House, according to MMA Fighting. He even jumped into a WWE ring set up at the venue before security spotted him and removed him from the grounds. He was not arrested on site.

Strickland says he may face disorderly conduct charge

The middleweight champion posted on Instagram that he could be charged with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor in D.C. that carries up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. "I may have been charged with disorderly conduct. I don't know what that is but it sounds cool," Strickland wrote, per the report. "Anyways, I just want to thank you fans. I can't thank you guys enough. After being banned, you guys riding, supporting me, it means a lot to me."

In a separate post, Strickland shared a photo of himself being led away by security officers. "Sorry you guys," he wrote. "We almost made it! Promise one day, we will set up a circle and box. Thanks for your support."

Strickland drew attention throughout fight week by insisting he was banned from the card over his vocal criticism of President Donald Trump and his stance on Israel and the Iran conflict. UFC CEO Dana White later dismissed the claim, saying no one was banned but that the limited seating meant Strickland simply was not on the guest list. Strickland vowed to show up regardless and made good on that promise before being removed ahead of the Sunday night fights.
