Sean Strickland ejected from UFC Freedom 250 fan event

Tom Rashid

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland was escorted out of the Freedom 250 Fan Fest near the White House on Saturday, with authorities citing safety concerns as the reason for his removal.

Officials told ESPN that Strickland was pulled from the event "for his own and public safety," though no further details about the incident were provided at press time.

What led to Strickland's removal from the Freedom 250 event

The Freedom 250 Fan Fest was staged as part of the promotion's buildup to its upcoming card. Strickland, who has built a reputation for unfiltered public appearances and controversial commentary, reportedly drew a crowd before security intervened.

No charges have been filed, and the UFC has not yet issued a statement on the matter. The promotion's next scheduled event is set for later this month.
