Sean O'Malley rips UFC White House fight kits: 'Mine were ugly'
Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has publicly trashed the special fight kits designed for the promotion's White House visit.
O'Malley, speaking on his podcast, made clear he was not a fan of the commemorative gear. "I dunno if I'm supposed to say — they're ugly, mine were ugly," he said, according to Complex Sports.
What prompted O'Malley's candid take on White House kits
The UFC arranged a White House visit for select fighters and officials, with custom kits created for the occasion. While most athletes stayed diplomatic about the apparel, O'Malley broke ranks with his blunt assessment.
The 30-year-old Montana native lost his bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 in September. He has not fought since that decision loss at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
No word yet on when O'Malley will return to the octagon or whether the UFC plans to redesign any future White House gear.
