Sam Noakes faces Berinchyk on Itauma-Hrgovic undercard
Sam Noakes will face former WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on the Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic undercard in London on August 29, Bad Left Hook reports.
The bout marks a step back up for Noakes (18-1, 16 KO), who dropped a competitive decision to Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO strap last November before rebounding with a May tune-up. Berinchyk (19-1, 9 KO) has not fought since Keyshawn Davis stopped him for that belt in February 2025. The Ukrainian is now 38 years old.
British and Commonwealth titles at lightweight
Constantin Ursu (15-0, 6 KO) will defend the British and Commonwealth lightweight titles against Ben Vaughan (12-2, 4 KO). The 26-year-old Moldovan southpaw faces a challenger whose two losses both came on majority decisions, a record that sometimes hides a spoiler.
At cruiserweight, Aloys Junior (11-1, 9 KO) takes on Mike Perez (32-3-1, 22 KO). The 23-year-old Junior has won 11 straight since losing his pro debut in late 2021 and now holds the Commonwealth title. Perez, 40, moved down from heavyweight and has not lost since Mairis Briedis beat him in 2017, though his recent opposition has been modest. Bad Left Hook called the veteran Cuban defector the trickiest test Aloys has faced to date.
The Itauma-Hrgovic card airs from London on August 29.
