Ruotolo Gets ONE Title Shot In Third MMA Fight
Tye Ruotolo will challenge Christian Lee for the ONE Championship lightweight title on Nov. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, making his third professional mixed martial arts appearance a championship bout.
The matchup headlines The Inner Circle 37, according to Sherdog. Ruotolo, the reigning ONE welterweight submission grappling champion, has finished both of his MMA opponents — Adrian Lee and Shozo Isojima — by submission since transitioning from pure grappling earlier this year.
Lee Defends Against Undefeated Grappling Champion
Lee brings an 18-4 record into the fight and stopped Alibeg Rasulov by second-round technical knockout at ONE 173 last November. The two-division champion has 17 stoppages across his 18 victories. Ruotolo, 23, now faces the steepest test of his young career against a veteran who has rarely seen the final bell.
The co-main event features a bantamweight muay thai rematch between Komawut FA Group and Yodphupa Petkiatpet. Three additional muay thai bouts round out the card, with Kongchai Chanaidonmueang taking on Tantawy Ahmed at flyweight, Titus Proctor meeting Maciej Karpinski at lightweight, and Cal Cook facing Dabdam Por Tor Tor Thongtawee at strawweight.
The event streams from Bangkok on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
