England's seven finalists matched the nation's previous high-water mark set in 1986 and equalled at the 2018 Gold Coast Games. Reid, a 28-year-old world bronze medallist who recently returned after six years away with a degenerative back condition, defeated Australia's world number two Lekeisha Pergoliti decisively in the 70kg division. Okoh silenced the Scottish home crowd by outpointing Robert McNulty across all three rounds in the heavyweight category. "They have been hostile all week," the 22-year-old from Grays said. "I won on Tuesday and they came out and told me I was going to get knocked out, but there was no knocking out today. He got schooled."

Saturday's finals run from 11:00 to 19:30 BST in Glasgow. White said she plans to prepare for the biggest fight of her amateur career with a family moment and her signature ritual: "I'm going to give my mum a big fat cuddle.
