Rousey Continues Blasting UFC's Hunter Campbell

Ronda Rousey continues to hit out at UFC’s Hunter Campbell.

Rousey submitted Gina Carano in May on the MVP MMA 1 card. She has not stopped targeting the UFC's chief business officer since. The former UFC women's bantamweight champion added a new detail about what Campbell reportedly said to Carano when the fight was first presented to the UFC.

"It was extremely validating especially after Hunter Campbell told Gina he didn't know how he was going to market a couple of 40-year-olds to her, that's what he said. So it was really nice to kind of take that comment and throw it into his face,” Rousey

Rousey used it as a launching point for a broader critique of Campbell's abilities.

"It's not that he doesn't know how to market us, it's that he doesn't know how to market f***ing anybody, and he missed a huge opportunity letting us go because now he, in his own arrogance, basically allowed us to create the Lamborghini to his Ferrari. He created the hugest rival that the UFC is ever going to have just because he's so arrogant, stupid, and chauvinist,” Rousey

Rousey continues to work with Most Valuable Promotions behind the scenes and has made clear she believes the promotion can take real market share from the UFC.

Rousey's relationship with White appears unaffected, which creates an interesting dynamic. She has made clear the issue is Campbell specifically, not the UFC as an institution or its CEO. That distinction matters in how the conflict is likely to develop.

As for fighting, Rousey says she is not focused on a return to the cage. She has spoken about extending her family and pursuing interests outside competition, suggesting the Carano fight may have been the final chapter in her combat sports story.
