Robertson Sees Weakness In Dern's Game
Gillian Robertson has identified what she views as a critical flaw in Mackenzie Dern's skillset ahead of their strawweight title clash.
The challenger, who meets the champion at UFC 330 on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, told MMA Junkie that Dern struggles to secure takedowns despite her dangerous ground game. Robertson expects the Brazilian might resort to pulling guard to force grappling exchanges where her submission prowess can take over.

Robertson Predicts Third-Round Finish
"I don't think she has a great ability to take it to the ground," Robertson said, per MMA Junkie. "I think she has an okay double leg and then she likes the lateral hip throw. I don't think she's the best at getting there." Robertson added she would not be surprised if Dern pulled guard, noting the champion is most dangerous working off her back with active submissions.
Robertson predicted a third-round technical knockout and declared the belt already hers as fight week opened. The challenger enters on a five-fight winning streak, the longest run of her 17-8 career. Dern captured the vacant title last year with a decision over Virna Jandiroba after Zhang Weili relinquished the strap.
