Prochazka Confirms Preparation For New UFC Challenge
Jiri Prochazka has started training for his next UFC appearance after multiple heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight contenders reportedly turned down the chance to face him.
The former champion, who dropped his title to Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 in January, wrote on X that he has moved forward with a fresh matchup following the rejections. "None of the last challengers they've dealt with want to fight," Prochazka posted, according to Sherdog. "So, let's move forward and let's face the new challenge. Stay tuned. I am happy to be back in the true work. Preparation started."
Who Prochazka Could Face At 205 Pounds
Prochazka's reference to a "new" opponent rules out a rematch with Khalil Rountree, whom he has already fought. The Czech fighter has yet to meet former champion Magomed Ankalaev inside the cage, while recent speculation has linked him to unbeaten contender Navajo Stirling.
Ulberg remains out with an injury and is not expected back until 2027, which has opened the door for an interim title fight among the division's top names. Prochazka appears to have secured his spot in that shuffle.
The UFC has not confirmed an opponent or date. Prochazka trains in the Czech Republic and holds a 30-5-1 career record.
