Prochazka Tells Costa To Accept UFC October Fight
Jiri Prochazka says UFC offered him a fight with Paulo Costa for October or November, but the Brazilian claims he knows nothing about it.
Prochazka, who lost to Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 in April, posted a message on Instagram directed at Costa. "Don't tag me, don't mention me in your posts because you have an offer from UFC to fight me in October or November," he said, per MMA Mania. "And if you don't want to fight me, don't mention me, don't speak about me. This is it. I'm waiting for the contract for this fight."
Costa Says He Has Not Heard About Prochazka Matchup
Costa fired back on social media, writing that no one from the promotion has brought up Prochazka's name. "EVERYONE wants to fight me because I'm THE GUY in this boring division," Costa posted. "But the TRUTH is: so far, nobody has mentioned your name to me. So go back to doing that weird thing of yours — whatever the hell it is you're doing, man."
The former middleweight title challenger stopped Azamat Murzakanov with a head kick at UFC 327, his first knockout since 2022. Prochazka dropped to 32-6-1 after the Ulberg loss, which marked his second defeat in three heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight bouts.
UFC has not confirmed the matchup. If the fight happens, it would land in late fall with both Top 5 contenders looking to rebound into title contention.
