Usyk confirms two or three more fights after Rico clash
Oleksandr Usyk says he will continue boxing beyond his next bout, targeting two or three more fights before retiring. The unified heavyweight champion made the announcement while discussing his future plans.
“I will not stop my career after I fight Rico - I have two, maybe three, fights more”

What Oleksandr Usyk said
Usyk holds the WBA, WBO and WBC heavyweight titles after beating Tyson Fury twice in 2024. His next opponent, Rico, has not been officially confirmed. The Ukrainian had previously hinted at retirement but now appears ready to extend his career into 2025 and possibly beyond.
What it moves
The statement keeps Usyk in the heavyweight mix for at least another year. Two or three fights would allow time for mandatory defences and potentially another unification bout. Any opponent looking to force a title shot now knows Usyk plans to remain active rather than vacate.
