Josh Hokit fires back at Daniel Cormier criticism
UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit has responded to Daniel Cormier's criticism with more inflammatory language, doubling down on the antagonistic persona that made him a post-fight headline at UFC Freedom 250.
Hokit drew widespread backlash after his win over Derrick Lewis at the White House earlier this month when he made disparaging comments about former First Lady Michelle Obama during his octagon interview. The remarks overshadowed the actual fight and prompted criticism from multiple corners, including Cormier, who told MMA Fighting he was disappointed despite having some relationship with Hokit.
Hokit's profane response to UFC Hall of Famer
Rather than walk back his stance, Hokit posted on social media calling Cormier a series of insults and declaring his intentions plainly. "I've been nothing but nice to this fat cow pig," he wrote, per MMA Fighting. "I'm not here for unity, in reality there will never be unity... I come to divide people's faces... if you don't like it then come do something about it."
Any notion that Hokit might be angling for a fight with the 47-year-old former champion appears wishful thinking. Cormier has not competed since 2020 and holds Hall of Fame status with the promotion.
Hokit's pattern of post-fight controversies now looms larger than his cage work, with UFC management yet to publicly address the fallout from the White House event.
