Prates Dismisses Brady Call-Out Until Title Shot

Carlos Prates will not entertain call-outs from Sean Brady, Uros Medic, or any other UFC welterweight until after he competes for the 170-pound title.

The Brazilian, who stopped Jack Della Maddalena in May to position himself as a top contender, told challengers to wait their turn in an Instagram post reported by Sherdog. "Calm down, brothers," Prates wrote. "In my next fight, I'm taking that belt. After that, I'll deal with all of you and take you straight to the Kingdom of Pain."

Prates On Path To Welterweight Title

Prates has finished all seven of his UFC wins by stoppage. His lone setback came against Ian Garry, who challenges Islam Makhachev for the welterweight strap at UFC 330. Makhachev recently named Prates as a potential future opponent, calling him an exciting fighter.

Brady and Medic have both called out Prates in recent weeks as the welterweight division sorts out its hierarchy. Michael Morales remains another undefeated contender in the title mix.

UFC 330 is scheduled for later this year, with the winner expected to face the top available contender in early 2027.
