Paddy Pimblett has taken aim at Ilia Topuria over allegations that Justin Gaethje tampered with his gloves before their UFC Freedom 250 clash.

Topuria recently claimed Gaethje cheated during their lightweight title unification bout earlier this year, which Gaethje won by TKO to hand Topuria his first career loss. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pimblett dismissed the accusations and accused his longtime rival of making excuses, according to BJPenn.com.

Pimblett Calls Topuria Sore Loser After Gaethje Upset

"Ilia is trying to say that Justin had stuff in his gloves, which he definitely didn't," Pimblett said. "The commission was watching, and I think Ilia is just being a sore loser." The Liverpool fighter suggested the glove tampering controversy could force a rematch between Gaethje and Topuria before the champion faces top contender Arman Tsarukyan.

Pimblett beat Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 329 earlier this year after losing an interim title fight to Gaethje at UFC 324. A grudge match between Pimblett and Topuria remains possible if Tsarukyan gets the next title shot, per the report.

Topuria has not responded to Pimblett's comments. UFC president Dana White previously dismissed the glove tampering claims, joining a growing list of figures who have rejected the former champion's allegations.
