Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

Mike Perry has broken his silence after suffering a shoulder injury and subsequent submission loss to Brandon Jenkins at Duel Arena 1 in Orlando last weekend.

Jenkins stepped in as a late replacement after Dillon Danis withdrew days before the event. Perry injured his shoulder during the bout and was eventually finished by the fill-in opponent, according to MMA Mania.

Perry On Recovery After Orlando Setback

"Health is wealth," Perry wrote on social media. "The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised everywhere we go."

Perry, 34, added that he plans to prioritize recovery work. "Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching," he wrote. "Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do."

Perry's next move remains unclear following his exit from BKFC earlier this year. A return to MVP MMA has been floated as one possibility, while Scott Coker's new MMA promotion launching in early 2027 could also be in the mix for the former UFC welterweight.
