Pereira Signs With Korean Zombie's Promotion

Michel Pereira has landed in Chan Sung Jung's promotion after completing his UFC run.

The Brazilian welterweight is booked against In Su Hwang on the Dec. 19 Z-Fight Night 5 card in Incheon, according to Sherdog. Jung, the former UFC featherweight contender known as "The Korean Zombie," leads the South Korean promotion.

Pereira's UFC Exit After Losing Streak

Pereira finished his original UFC deal in February but came back for a single-bout arrangement against Sharabutdin Magomedov this past June in Baku. The judges scored it unanimously for Magomedov, leaving Pereira a free agent. The 31-year-old carried a 32-15 record with two no-contests into free agency after dropping four of his last five Octagon outings.

Hwang tried and failed to earn a UFC deal through the Contender Series in 2025. The 9-2 South Korean has since rebounded, stopping an opponent in the third round this past May.

The December booking represents Pereira's first fight outside the UFC since 2019.
